As a cancer patient advocate, Craig P. Lustig, MPA, emphasizes the significance of patients engaging in the planning of their treatment and that when patients are involved in determining their treatment plan and have a voice in setting treatment goals, they feel empowered and better equipped to face the challenges ahead.
Regardless of a patient’s prognosis, incorporating their personal aspirations into the treatment plan instills a sense of hopefulness and supports the transformative role that such hope plays in improving outcomes for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
